As 2014 seems to be rapidly drawing to an end, we would like to say a big thank you, to those who have liked our Facebook page. We would also like you to know that by liking our page, you have made a physical contribution to our planet, with one tree planted for every like.
Read on to find out how we have made this possible and what it is all about.

Every year Fitzpatricks Real Estate seeks a way to give back and assist our community. This year, we started an initiative called freGREEN14,  a major part of this initiative is 1 Like = 1 Tree. This is a simple yet powerful idea, dedicated to aiding people of developing countries via a not for profit organisation called Trees for the Future (TREES)  www.treesforthefuture.org. As a result; to date, we (you and Fitzpatricks) are already responsible for planting 880+ trees!

We have not extensively promoted this 1 Like = 1 Tree initiative throughout the year, as it is not simply about getting as many likes to our page as possible, but more a way of giving back to our genuine followers, our planet and aiding people of developing countries all at once.

Trees are vital for the livelihood of villages in developing countries, it helps provide the bare necessities; food, water, shelter and fire, therefore building a sustainable future. Trees for the Future or TREES is dedicated to planting trees with rural communities in the developing world.

Our small contribution will be enough to start a forest that will help replenish critical groundwater supplies and provide for future generations in a developing country.

We ask for your help spreading the word about TREES,  freGREEN14, our Facebook page and by making your own contribution to TREES.

We also encourage all business to do the same for their own social media followers.

Note that TREES offer certificates for your contribution and this would make a great Christmas present for a hard to buy for loved one.

If you would like to know more about TREES, please watch this video of the late founder; Dave Deppner talk about the initiative.

From this video you will see that Dave’s vision not only combats two of the world’s biggest problems; hunger and environmental degradation, but it could even bring us a step closer to world peace! It’s inspiring to think how change to such big problems can be achieved if we work as a team.

TREES is currently responsible for planting 50 million trees and counting. You can see firsthand footage of the difference already being made on the TREES YouTube Channel.

We hope you find this project as inspiring as we do. Thanks again, from the team at FRE.
