blog_grantSince the introduction of the First Home Owner Grant in 2000, Wagga has been one of the top 20 cities to take advantage of the available grants. Coming in at number 11, Wagga has received 5,165 first home owner grants and 5,223 first home duty exemption/concessions with a total value of $70,386,558.

These results can be attributed to the affordable housing for first home buyers in our area coupled with the strength in our economy. There also continues to be a strong amount of sales in the $300,000 price range which is a great entry level for buyers. A Fitzpatricks Real Estate director commented that it was a great result for Wagga as it was the only regional centre listed and it is good to see us “mixing it with all these metropolitan and coastal towns” that also occupy the top 20 list.
