The Fitzpatricks Real Estate dragon boat team, the Fitzy Dragons was ready to give their best effort at the inaugural Dragon Boat Regatta at Lake Albert last Sunday.
There was a great turnout of 34 teams and more than 700 spectators and paddlers.
The competition consisted of four categories: men, women, sports mixed and community.
Sporting pink lifejackets in support of Bidgee Dragon’s Abreast (a group of breast cancer survivors and their supporters), the Fitzy Dragons won their first two heats and came a close second in their third heat. We were thrilled to make it to the Community category final, where we came second.
Congratulations to the Community category winners, Pulmonary Hypertension Association Australia, and all the other teams for a fantastic day of community spirit, sportsmanship and teamwork.
