Football4All

09/08/2018

Football4All was established to further develop the special needs football programs of Football NSW and create a support network for volunteers, coaches, parents and players involved in special needs football – it has been operating in Wagga since 2014. It provides a great opportunity for people with a disability or special needs to experience the game, network and have fun. Many of these children have never had an opportunity to play sport, let alone represent their community

On the 1st July 2018 31 players represented Wagga Wagga at the Football4All Carnival held at Valentine Sports Park in Sydney. A total of 4 teams participated with each team playing a total of 3 games each, with the focus being on fun and participation. Each player was excited to receive a medallion and football show bag.

There were plenty of activities to keep the children busy during the day with jumping castles, face painting and Police cars and Fire trucks to inspect. Everyone had an enjoyable time and there were plenty of smiles on the faces of the children throughout the day.

The night before the carnival a team dinner was held where each player was presented with a certificate of participation from Liam Dedini, Development Officer at Football Wagga Wagga, who accompanied the team to Sydney for the weekend.

Sarah White exclaimed, “This trip wouldn’t have been possible without the sponsorship and support of prominent local businesses like Fitzpatrick Real Estate and all the families are very grateful for their support”.
